Diabetic Eye Exam

Those living with diabetes are at an increased risk for glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and diabetic macular edema (DME). It is important to include regular eye exams throughout the management of this condition. 


Diabetic Eye Exams should be conducted every 6-12 months depending on severity and management of the condition. 

What to Expect

A diabetic eye exam will take 30-45 minutes and includes:
  • Vision
  • Glasses Prescription
  • Binocular Vision
  • Eye Pressure
  • Ocular Health: 
            – Front
            – Back (*may include dilation drops)

Please remember to bring a valid Ontario Health Card (OHIP) with you to your appointment!
